New Project Proposals

The Onondaga Lake Partnership will periodically solicit new project proposals from the Onondaga Lake community.

The Onondaga Lake Partnership is interested in seeking new project proposals from the Onondaga Lake community. The OLP Project Committee will periodically solicit new project proposals during defined solicitation periods. Proponents of new projects are required to submit them to the OLP Project Committee using the Project Proposal Outline (6 KB) and Instructions for Submitting Project Proposals (6 KB).

Project Proposals Evaluation Process

After the solicitation period, proposals will be screened against eligibility criteria to determine whether they meet the intent of the OLP mission. Eligible proposals will then be evaluated using a numerical scoring system. Each proposal will have a numerical score used by the OLP to prioritize projects. This score will be a factor when projects are considered for funding.

We believe these steps will help better define the goals, requirements, and resources needed to address the cleanup of Onondaga Lake and its watershed. We welcome any questions or comments you may have regarding these efforts and invite you to contact the OLP Project Committee with your ideas.

Request for Information on Other Projects

The development and implementation of projects to restore and conserve the water quality, natural resources, and recreational uses of Onondaga Lake requires balancing many project needs with limited available resources. As a first step in developing a comprehensive lake cleanup program, the OLP has compiled an inventory of known existing and proposed projects, summaries of which are available on this web site. If agencies or individuals are aware of additional projects being conducted in the Onondaga Lake watershed which they feel are related to the OLP mission and may benefit the lake cleanup program, we ask that they contact the OLP Project Committee. Having a complete and accurate project inventory will help ensure lake cleanup needs are fully considered, allow for improved coordination between projects and their proponents, and conserve limited resources for the cleanup of Onondaga Lake.
